The practice

A look inside the office on Summer Street.

One suite, one doctor, and a small set of instruments chosen because they change what a routine visit can find and fix. This is what you will actually see at 999 Summer Street, Suite 203.

Since 1990

The same doctor, every visit.

Dr. Anna Karidas opened this practice in 1990, the year she completed her residency at NYU College of Dentistry. More than three decades later it is still a single-doctor office: the dentist who examines you at your first visit is the one who treats you at every visit after.

The office sits in Suite 203 at 999 Summer Street in Stamford, a short distance from downtown. Patients describe it the same way in review after review — clean, modern, professionally run, and on time. You can read those descriptions, verbatim, on the testimonials page.

The instruments, figure by figure.

Four pieces of equipment you may meet during an ordinary appointment, drawn the way the practice thinks about them — as working instruments, not marketing props.

Waterlase MD
A hard and soft tissue laser used in place of a drill for certain restorative and periodontal procedures. It often allows treatment with less anesthetic and a quieter visit — particularly useful for patients who are anxious in the chair.
Digital X-rays
Digital radiography that uses 50 to 70 percent less radiation than conventional film, with images on screen in seconds. Less exposure for you, and a faster read for the doctor.
Diagnodent
A portable laser caries detection aid. It helps find small cavities before they are visible on the surface or on radiographs — which usually means smaller, simpler fillings.
Spectra
A second cavity detection aid that uses fluorescence to highlight early decay during the routine exam. Two independent detection tools means fewer surprises between checkups.

The homepage covers each instrument in more depth — what it replaces, when it is used, and why it earned a place in a one-doctor office.
